DALLAS, TX – Business Jet Cares, the 501(c)(3) charitable organization created by Business Jet Center and Business Jet Access, hosted its 6th Annual Cleared to Land on the Green Charity Golf Tournament on November 9, 2018.  A record breaking $60,000 was raised on a chilly day at the Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, TX.  The funds raised were donated to Folds of Honor and Patriot Paws Service Dogs, each assisting families of military veterans by providing assistance through educational scholarships or living assistance.

“I am still in complete awe of all the support Business Jet Cares has received.  This tournament has quickly grown into something much bigger than we ever expected and we couldn’t be more thankful for all the sponsors, golfers, and volunteers.  Freedom doesn’t come free and this is a very small way for us to ‘thank you’ to all the men and women who have and continue to put their lives on the line,” says Cat Clay, Tournament Coordinator

Hosted at the elite Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, TX, the day was kicked off with a gourmet breakfast, followed by a putting and chipping contest.  Golfers then hit the course for a 10:00 am shotgun start where they participated in various on-course games and competitions at each hole, as well as enjoyed a plethora of giveaways, snacks, and specialty drinks throughout the day.  A main highlight included a Beat the Pro hole where golfers had the opportunity to knock it closer to the hole than former LPGA golfer, Chelsea Kinard.  Another exciting highlight was the Cannon Shoot where golfers were given the chance to shoot their golf ball 400 yards out of a custom cannon onto the green in exchange for a small donation to the tournament charities.  If this wasn’t enough, Patriot Paws Service Dogs brought puppies in training to the course and they were able to mingle with the golfers and pose for photos.

An awards ceremony and dinner wrapped up the day with special guest speakers from Folds of Honor and Patriot Paws Service Dogs sharing personal testimonies on how each charity has assisted, and changed the lives of their families.  To end the evening, Apple Watches and the opportunity to name a puppy in training were raffled off as grand prizes.  This also includes the opportunity to keep up with the pup’s training progress, when the puppy “graduates”, and gets places with a well-deserved veteran.
